We
are a spiritual community
A place of genuine love and acceptance where
imperfect, broken people who have been hurt and
have made mistakes, NE1!, can feel like they
truly belong, that they are a part of a group
of people who really cares for them. A place
where no one feels like they have to hide behind
masks to fit in, where we can be completely honest
and real with each other. A unity in diversity,
where an international student at UH from China,
a young professional who works downtown at and
drives a BMW and a homeless alcoholic all feel
the warmth of loving community and no one EVER
feels like they have to stand alone.

We
make disciples of Jesus Christ
A place of life transformation, of learning
in community, where people are taught very
clearly how to follow the way of Christ,
are equipped with everything they might
need for spiritual growth, including Biblical
training, actual disciplines and practices,
even spiritual mentors to guide them through
the ups and downs of ACTUALLY living a
life that begins to reflect Jesus’ character.
A place where God takes hurting and damaged
lives and begins to heal them and mend
them, freeing people from addictions to
pornography, alcohol, from bondages to
self-hatred and bitterness, releasing them
to become the authentic whole persons that
they were created to be. A place where
actual life change happens regularly, not
overnite but over time, and people find
that they can become more than they ever
thought they could be.

We
passionately love God
A place of first-hand interaction with the raw, active presence
of God, where this new relationship is fanned into flame so that
it begins to redefine lives, giving them a new center of gravity
bringing meaning, wonder, beauty, truth and mystery. A place where
God is truly among us, where people are free to express themselves
in joyful song, silent prayer, tearful confession, thoughtful meditation,
dancing & clapping, fearful awe, the full range of our worship
to Him.

We really
love people
A place of sacrificial servanthood, where everyone sees that they play a significant
and indispensible role in actively serving the world around them, whether that
means being the most encouraging, helpful, honest person in the office or throwing
a party for the poor, or visiting your next-door neighbors and asking how you
can pray for them. A magnetic community who draw people to Christ through living
a lifestyle that resembles His. A people who bring hope to the helpless, who
speak and act as if they truly value every human being who crosses their path.
